Our story started a while back when our founder Bukola Adejumobi, on a business trip to Chicago, listened to a television broadcast of James and Betty Robison’s Life Today on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) speaking about providing water and food to poor areas in some African countries. She was so touched by the words James spoke and moved to see how much impact he was making in these African communities especially among children and women. She immediately gave what she could towards the ministry that day but thought to herself “ James Robinson is an American helping women and children in Africa, I am African how can I help my continent and my country? She said a prayer that day while watching the show asking God to use her the way only He could to be a change agent in Nigeria and the world at large.
Getting back to Nigeria she decided to find areas of need in her local church (The Fountain Of Life Church, Ilupeju) and support the best she could. However, as time went by through the results of teachings and mentoring she received from various circles especially from Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, and Mrs Ibukun Awosika( founder of the Christian Missionary Fund) she felt led to do more knowing that faith worketh by love and the only way to make a change is be the change.
After many years of seeking God’s face for clarity, direction and help, she took the bold step to register Helpmeet A Need Global Foundation, in 2014 as a non-profit charity organisation in Nigeria. Helpmeet A Need Global Foundation started by adopting three public schools in Yaba local government of Lagos state, starting with a school feeding program that gave balanced meals to the school children every week. The Foodie bag giving program soon followed, which is a program that gives food items to poor families, widows, orphans and single parents to last a month or more.
